Family Scholar House has a long history of serving residents of Southern Indiana and collaborating with Ivy Tech Community College. Currently, FSH services are offered on Ivy Tech’s Sellersburg campus, and we will soon be opening a residential campus that will house 36 student parents. Stay tuned for more updates.

June is for celebrating our graduates. So today, take a moment with us to acknowledge the accomplishments of Marista Schmitz, who just earned her Applied Associate of Science Degree in Human Services and Technical Certificate in Addiction Studies.
Marista is actually still a student; she’s beginning her Legal Studies through Ivy Tech Community College this summer. Her dream is to open her own recovery home for veterans, focusing on addiction and PTSD.
Every Family Scholar House graduate moves us one step forward in our mission to end the cycle of poverty and transform our community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency.

Congratulations!
We’re celebrating some of our Family Scholar House participant graduates all month long. So let’s give a shout-out to Witleigh Williams, who just earned her Associates in Health Sciences for Physical Therapy Assistant from Ivy Tech Community College.
Witleigh is scheduled to take her boards in July to get licensed, after which she plans to work in an outpatient physical therapy facility.
Like all our Family Scholar House graduates, Witleigh’s success is another milestone in our mission to end the cycle of poverty and transform our community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency.
