Ivy Tech Community & Technical College — Sellersburg Campus
Family Scholar House has a long history of serving residents of southern Indiana and collaborating with Ivy Tech Community & Technical College; but, the lack of a campus has limited the opportunities for families to stay in their community and live in our affordable housing. Currently FSH services are offered on Ivy Tech’s Sellersburg campus and soon we will begin construction of a residential facility there as well. Look for more news to come.
Each day, we work to keep the spirit of Dr. King alive through our mission to end the cycle of poverty and transform our community by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency. ... See MoreSee Less

Parkland Scholar House, in the renovated former location of Maupin Elementary School, is a mix of 48 two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments for full-time students and single parents who are active participants in The Family Scholar House Program. Parkland is conveniently located across from the new Maupin Elementary School, on the corner of Catalpa and Dumesnil Streets, and was the first Family Scholar House campus located in west Louisville.
After the renovation and preservation of the historic Parkland school and the addition of two new buildings, the first families were able to move in during late summer of 2013. Program services are provided for both residents and non-residents in the community. A Family Cafe and Children’s Nutrition Lab provides intergenerational meals and activities for participants and other families, children, and senior citizens in the community.

Well done Cathe…..extremely well done! We love FSH!
The Family Scholar Houses are a great resource to so many of our residents and families. I really appreciate the work you all are doing! So glad you’re in the Parkland neighborhood where I was born and raised!
Beautiful Campus, beautiful program which I know well. I loved volunteering to build a playground with Operation Boom at another of your campuses.
We could tell you what a difference the new Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Family Scholar House will make when it's completed and ready for residents. But we thought we'd let Ambriona Smith's remarks from last month's groundbreaking speak for themselves. Of course, Family Scholar House has been a presence at ECTC for quite awhile now, providing students with a whole range of services through our onsite regional coordinators and support specialists. Take it away, Ambriona!
