Advocacy Support — Resilience

Family Scholar House assists participants in obtaining needed support services and helps them address barriers to education. All participants meet regularly with their Participant Advocate for services including the following:

  • Assistance in applying for necessary welfare benefits
  • Opportunities to develop new skills in the areas of parenting, time-management, and independent living
  • Regular individual meetings for goal setting, support counseling and referral to community resources
  • Peer support activities to learn from other participants and program graduates

Financial Education

Through 1:1 coaching and access to FSH Academy online learning, Family Scholar House provides financial education to our participants to increase their knowledge and confidence as it relates to their financial situation.
