Family Scholar House has a long history of serving residents of Southern Indiana and collaborating with Ivy Tech Community College. Currently, FSH services are offered on Ivy Tech’s Sellersburg campus, and we will soon be opening a residential campus that will house 36 student parents. Stay tuned for more updates.

There’s something incredibly exciting about moving into a new home. And that’s multiplied when it’s a whole bunch of Family Scholar House participant families moving into brand new homes on our new campus at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College! While construction continues on some of the buildings, several were ready this past Saturday for excited new parents and kiddos to move in. Support our families by helping sort, organize, and prepare donated clothing and essentials in Linda’s Closet, ensuring participants have access to professional and everyday wear.
Wine Women & Shoes Elizabethtown Setup September 24 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Phillips Grove
Volunteers helping with setup for Wine Women & Shoes Elizabethtown will assist in transforming the venue into an elegant and welcoming space. Tasks include unloading and arranging event materials, setting up tables, chairs, and displays, and placing signage and decorations.
Back-to-School Affirmation Card Creation
The beginning of a school year can bring a mix of excitement and anxiety, especially for adult learners who are balancing academics with parenting, work, and financial stress. A kind word can be a game-changer. These affirmations serve as quiet, meaningful moments of motivation helping our scholars start the school year with confidence. We invite volunteers to create these cards as part of our Back-to-School Affirmation Project. It’s a simple and creative way to make a difference.
• Write or decorate uplifting messages on colorful notecards or cardstock.
• Use markers, stickers, or stamps to personalize the cards.
• Keep the message focused on encouragement, resilience, and hope.
