Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Rarely have our staff received a welcome as warm and enthusiastic as we experienced in Elizabethtown. From the first meeting with Elizabethtown Community & Technical College (ECTC), it was clear that a collaboration was beginning to support not only student parents and their families but also any student or prospective student wanting the education necessary for their chosen career field. With the new and innovative industries coming to Hardin County, FSH is glad to be a partner in preparing area residents for new workforce opportunities. In addition to having an office and staff at ECTC, Family Scholar House is working with the college and community leadership to build a residential campus for student-parent families. Stay tuned for updates.
Keneysha Cowden, a former FSH resident, graduate, current supporter, and lifetime participant recently shared her story as the keynote for our Home for Hope Gala. Take a look at this special blog. familyscholarhouse.org/blog/ ... See MoreSee Less

In our work at Family Scholar House, we stand on the broad shoulders of the dedicated women religious who founded our organization and paved the way for us to grow into a national best practice in serving student parents and their families. Recently, I was in the Lochner Legacy Lobby (named for our first director Anne Mary Lochner, OSU) and with tributes to all six of the orders represented by our founders. Especially for our newer staff and participants, this is a reminder that the contributions of the sisters live on through our work, locally, regionally, and nationally.
As we celebrate the life of Sister Anne Mary and the legacy she leaves with us as she enters eternal life, we are called to make her and all of our founders proud through our service. Rest in peace, Sister Anne Mary.
