As a college freshman embarking on the second year of my AmeriCorps VISTA journey, I find myself immersed in a role that transcends conventional boundaries. I proudly serve as the Cumberland’s Regional Resource Developer for FSH Resources, a brand of Family. My primary responsibility is laying the foundation for a network of resources that significantly impact the lives of families and individuals in need.
Regularly, I engage in extensive research, hunting down invaluable resources to integrate into MyKY.info. This meticulous work involves submerging myself in phone calls, emails, and meetings. I am acutely aware of the significance of each piece of information gathered. The dedication to this process is not just about paperwork; it’s about building a foundation of knowledge that becomes a powerful tool for those in need. It’s a commitment to understanding the intricacies of diverse resources and translating that understanding into tangible support for our community.
One of the most rewarding facets of my position is the ability to professionally bridge the gap between MyKY.info and other non-profits and institutions. Establishing connections and building rapport with the individuals behind these organizations is a skill I hold in high regard.
