Heart

I graduated from University of Louisville in May of 2022, really unsure of what life held for me. My degree was in Communications/Marketing and with 4 years of Human Resources experience – I applied to jobs in HR. That’s not where my heart was though. I began looking for a position where I could gain experience in my communication skills while also doing something I felt passionate about. I looked for a position that allowed me to help others. I came across a job listing on Linked In one day and I knew Family Scholar House was something I wanted to be a part of. Once I was offered the position I knew this was a place that was going to fill me up.

In July of 2022, I began my career at Family Scholar House as the Community Outreach Coordinator! I am so passionate about what I do because the work we do at FSH is changing many people’s lives and the entire community. We offer so many services that truly ensure the success of those who work hard to reach their goals. I am honored that I get to be a voice for this organization and help find community partners that join us in ending the cycle of poverty. Working here has opened my eyes to the many resources our community has to offer. I’ve gained many opportunities in such a short time and I am looking forward to the possibilities in my career.

I wasn’t aware of how much this organization would impact me but I’m thankful it has impacted me in such a wonderful way. I am excited for my future at Family Scholar House and I can’t wait to see it expand. I am forever grateful to have an opportunity to do something I love that impacts others in a positive way. Thank you to everyone in our Family Scholar House family, you make it possible for so many members of our community to reach their dreams!
