Janine’s Career in Education Enabled Her to Give Back

On this month’s episode of the Family Scholar House PodCath, Cathe is chatting with Janine Hogan. Janine is a graduate of Louisville University with a degree in Education. She is also the mother of twins, and a first grade teacher.

Janine felt attracted to Family Scholar House as she drove past our colorful campus. Before long, she got into the program because she knew she needed help with her twins while she was going to school.

“I appreciated the staff. I knew that if I needed some help with school, or if I needed help with applying for any type of financial assistance, I know who and what resources to go to.”

Janine is passionate about being a teacher. She thinks of it as her doing God’s work, and she’s excited to be developing a new curriculum for students, as well as helping other teachers excel at their jobs. Janine is also now working with Family Scholar House to help support our school-age children with extra tutoring and assistance in this time of non-traditional instruction.

“Life has not always been easy for me, but because I put in the work, I have been able to commit to God’s work. I’ve been able to commit to my students. I’ve been able to commit to myself and my children, and I’m proud of that,” Janine concluded our chat.

We are sure she would have achieved her dreams anyway, but we are proud to have her as a part of the Family Scholar House family!
