On Friday April 19th, 2019, Derby City Party People will host its signature fundraiser, Not Your Parent's Derby Party benefiting Family Scholar House.
Wine, Women, and Shoes will be held March 1 at the Henry Clay. Sip fine wines, shop designer fashions, mingle with The Shoe Guys, savor delicious bites, enjoy a glamorous fashion show presented by Von Maur, bid on auction items, enter the Key-To-The-Closet raffle sponsored by Churchill Downs, Inc.
An FSH Participant Story. “Someone forgot to tell me how amazing it feels to accomplish a college degree. Wow! I DID IT!” These are the opening words to an email from an FSH participant to FSH staff following her college graduation this past December. Barbara’s email goes on to speak beautifully of the values and mission of Family Scholar House: community.

Accelerating postsecondary success for parenting students helps not just them, but also supports the economic mobility and well-being of their families.
The email came to our Chief Possibility Officer’s inbox one Thursday evening, from a Family Scholar House supporter. The supporter wanted to express her pleasure at a call she received from a Family Scholar House participant during this year’s Thank-A-Thon.

Our Celebration of Education Gala last week was a night to remember. As our extended FSH family joined together to support our mission and our families. We had several FSH graduates in attendance and Keneysha (FSH c/o 2012) addressed the audience as she reflected back on her time at FSH and reflected on now being able to give back to current FSH families.
