When first starting at Family Scholar House, I would have never imagined the impact it would have on my life. Much like our participants, I wasn’t sure what the next step in my career would be, but I knew I had a passion to serve and wanted to make a difference in my community.
Our Success Coordinators work directly with potential members to recruit, enroll, and support them through their service as an AmeriCorps member. Learn about Raelyn and how she is supporting the Lexington community as a KY HealthCorps Success Coordinator:

Quitting school wasn’t an option for me. I was determined to finish my education and prove I would not be a statistic. When I found out I was pregnant I was confused and worried; how would I juggle school, work, and being a parent?
Family Scholar House single-handedly gave me all the tools I needed for success. Everything from tutoring, networking opportunities, financial workshops, and job fairs. I am beyond grateful for the Family Scholar House Program because I was able to continue my education after High School, while also being able to be the best mom possible.
I am so passionate about what I do because the work we do at FSH is changing many people's lives and the entire community.
